MENTAL HEALTH AND INITIATIVES

WHAT WE DO

We at JSF recognize the importance of creating positive role models for the children in our communities. Studies have shown that children who have role models in their lives, whether it be teachers, friends, parents, or athletes, make better decisions, especially when those role models impress the value of education.

The education that the Sharks Foundation offers goes beyond the classroom and aims to help shape the future generations of Jacksonville and the surrounding areas.

We believe in the value of mental health and emotional intelligence, and we help share that message with students across North East Florida's schools through talks with our Jacksonville Sharks Football team players, dancers, and coaches.

All of the individuals that we send into schools to speak to your children have faced trials and tribulations, and through interactive and age-appropriate conversations, students understand the mental strength required to overcome obstacles and become the best version of themselves. We never use the word 'bully', instead, our programming is focused on building individuals up and the importance of positivity and collaboration within work environments.

Topics such as empathy and leadership are cornerstones in our Jacksonville Sharks locker room, and our players and staff help inspire students on the importance of being leaders in the classroom, in their homes, and in their everyday lives.

Following the pandemic and school shutdowns, children are reporting an alarming rate of mental health concerns and struggles in schools all over the country.

Our approach is to empower these students with the tools to become independent and emotionally mature people who can be empathetic and mentally resilient, creating a better, happier community.
